The Shred Event is offered once a month from March to November.

Remaining 2024 events are full. Registration for the March Shred Event will open in February 2025.

At the Department of Public Works

• Registration is required. 
• Free, secure, on-site shredding services. 
• Bring up to three boxes (per reservation) of personal documents for shredding and recycling.
• Standard paper boxes are acceptable (18"x12"x9").
• No binders, binder clips, or media equipment.
• The Shred Event is for Charles County residents only.
• No businesses permitted.
• Limit one event per household.
• Events held rain or shine.
