NOTICE OF PUBLIC SALE
Notice is hereby given that the County Commissioners of Charles County, Maryland will accept offers to purchase 14 W Hawthorne Road, La Plata, MD, Tax Account #01-026143, Tax Map 108, Grid 10, Parcel 5, Commercial Zoning, 3 Acres, at public auction on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 10:00 am.
The sale will be by public auction and will take place in the auditorium, located in the Charles County Government Building, 200 Baltimore Street, La Plata, Md 20646. The public auction of all property at the public sale will be with reserve.
Acceptance of the highest bid received will be subject to final acceptance by the County Commissioners of Charles County, Maryland.
The County Commissioners of Charles County, Maryland reserve the right to:
- Withdraw the property from sale;
- Reject any and all bids; and
- Refuse to accept the highest bid received.
TERMS OF SALE:
1. All prospective bidders are required to pre-register the morning of the sale between 8:30 am-10:00 am. with proper identification (Drivers' License, etc.).
2. The highest bidder must deliver to the County Commissioners of Charles County, Maryland a non-refundable deposit of twenty-five percent (25%) of the highest bid price in cash or by cashiers' check on the day of the sale.
3. The balance of the purchase price shall be due and payable within sixty (60) days of final acceptance of the highest bid by the County Commissioners of Charles County, Maryland.
4. Interest at the rate of twelve percent (12%) per annum shall be charged on the unpaid sale price from the date of acceptance of the highest bid by the County Commissioners of Charles County, Maryland.
5. The County Commissioners of Charles County, Maryland will transfer sold properties through a Quit Claim Deed.
6. Any additional expenses of conveyance shall be at the expense of the purchaser.
7. The properties will be sold “AS IS” and the County Commissioners of Charles County, Maryland make no warranties whatsoever concerning the property.
8. All properties are sold subject to existing easements, conditions and/or other encumbrances.
