The Adopt-A-Road and Adopt-A-Spot programs are community initiatives through Litter Control that aim to enhance the cleanliness and appearance of local roadways and public spaces. In these programs, groups, businesses, or organizations volunteer to take responsibility for cleaning and maintaining a specific section of road or public space in our community. By fostering a sense of ownership and environmental stewardship, the Adopt-A-Road and Adopt-A-Spot programs not only help keep the county clean but also promotes community engagement and pride. It serves as a collaborative effort between citizens and local government.  We can all work together to create a cleaner, safer, and more beautiful community for everyone to enjoy.

• Spots and roads must be cleaned at least 3 times in a calendar year.
• Adopt-A-Road volunteers must be at least 12 years of age and those between the ages of 12 - 17 must be supervised by an adult. 
• Adopt-A-Spot volunteers can be any age, with adult supervision for those 17 years of age and younger.
• Roads deemed dangerous are not be available for adoption.
• Roads that are house front are not be available for adoption.

• Can businesses or organizations sponsor or adopt multiple sections of a road? Yes, businesses and organizations can adopt multiple roads or sections.
• Are there any age restrictions for participating in the Adopt-A-Road program? Participants must be at least 12 years of age. Participants under 18 must be supervised by an adult.
• How does the program handle the disposal of collected litter and debris? Participants can either dispose of the trash collected or can request removal by Litter Control. There’s an option on the online reporting form to request disposal and a section to note where the collected trash is located.
• Can participants request additional tools or resources to assist with their road cleaning efforts? The County offers bags, gloves, vest, and grabbers. Supplies can be requested by the new online form you’re creating.
