Project Overview

The Charles County Commissioners, Maryland Office of Statewide Broadband, and ThinkBig Networks, LLC have partnered to bring high-speed internet via Fiber-to-the-Premise (FTTP) to over 250 homes in the northern Nanjemoy area. This is a Category 1 project to construct a comprehensive broadband network in an area that does not have any existing broadband infrastructure. Construction began in summer 2023 and is expected to be completed by August 31, 2026

The project has been designed by ThinkBig to be built in two phases and will include underground and aerial construction methods. The preferred method for deployment is underground as it provides a more secure environment for the infrastructure and can be deployed more quickly. Aerial deployment is planned only for those areas where ThinkBig is not granted an easement from the landowner.
