The Charles County Landfill, all Recycling Centers, and the Piney Church Road Mulch Facility will be closing Wednesday, November 27 at 12:00pm and closed on Thursday, November 28.

Welcome to the Mattress Recycling Program! 

This new program begins August 1, 2024. Recycling mattresses helps reduce unnecessary items in the landfill. The materials from mattresses provide resources that can be reused in new items. Residents may bring two units per day for FREE to the Charles County Landfill to be recycled. Additional units cost $10 each. Commercial loads are subject to a $10 per unit fee.

Examples of pricing: (two units free per day for all residential loads) 

• 1 Mattress and 1 Box Spring: Free

• 2 mattresses: Free

• 3 mattresses: $10

• 2 mattresses and 2 box springs: $20
