Public Hearing: 7-Eleven Canopy Signage Square Footage

PUBLIC NOTICE 

THE BOARD OF APPEALS FOR CHARLES COUNTY, MARYLAND has been petitioned by Site Enhancement Services, on behalf of CZ Investments, LLC, requesting a Variance to exceed the allowed canopy signage square footage in accordance with §297-416 of the Zoning Ordinance.  The subject property is located at 7-Eleven, 2355 Crain Highway in Waldorf, Maryland and is further designated as Lot 3R a/k/a Parcel 35 within Grid 5 on Tax Map 8. Lot 3R is approximately 1.412 acres in size and is entirely within the Community Commercial (CC) Zone.

The Board of Appeals is hereby giving notice that a Public Hearing will be held on this matter TuesdaySeptember 12, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. The Public Hearing will be held as a “Hybrid meeting,” with limited in-person attendance.  For those attending in person, the Public Hearing will be held in the Government Building Conference Room (“Blue Room”). Those wishing to join virtually may via video conference.  Those wanting more information may call 301-645-0692. The Public Hearing is open to the public, and public testimony is encouraged. 

The submittal documents for Docket #1461, filed on March 29, 2023, and Staff Report will be available for inspection on or after August 28, 2023, in the Planning Division, Planning and Growth Management Department, Charles County Government Building, La Plata, Maryland or online at: https://www.charlescountymd.gov/government/boards-commissions/current-boards-commissions-meetings-after-july-1-2022 

Citizens wishing to attend hearings are welcome. In lieu of physical attendance, citizens are invited to watch hearings via CCGTV on cable access channels, Comcast: 95 and Verizon FIOS: 10, view online at  https://www.charlescountymd.gov/our-county/ccgtv-live-stream, or use a call-in number to listen to the public hearing at 301-645-0500. 

Public testimony may be given either in person or virtually. Each speaker will be allotted three (3) minutes. If you are not available to speak when you are called, we have the right to move on to the next caller.
