VEHICLE PARKING RESTRICTIONS
The Charles County Commissioners will hold a virtual Public Hearing on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. to consider legislation concerning Vehicle Parking Restrictions, numbered Bill 2020-02. The meeting will be held remotely via video teleconference.
The proposed legislation will amend Chapter 287-9 of the Code of Charles County to allow for the imposition of penalties for violations of 287-8 (E) that concerns illegal stopping or parking of a vehicle on a two-way roadway. The Bill will be posted prior to the public hearing on the County’s BoardDocs (public) website at http://www.boarddocs.com/md/chrlsco/Board.nsf/Public.
Due to COVID19, and in lieu of public appearance, citizens may view the public hearing via CCGTV on cable access channels, Comcast: 95 and Verizon FIOS: 10, view on line at https://www.charlescountymd.gov/our-county/ccgtv-live-stream, or use a call-in number to listen to the public hearing at 301-645-0500.
Comments will be accepted beginning May 29, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. through June 19, 2020, 5:00 p.m., by using the e-comment feature at https://www.charlescountymd.gov/parking-restrictions or calling 301-645-0652 to leave a message. Written comments may also be mailed to Charles County Commissioners, 200 Baltimore Street, La Plata, Maryland 20646. E-comments and written comments must be received no later than June 19, 2020, unless extended by the Board of Commissioners. To provide a comment during the public hearing, please register to speak between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on June 16, 2020 by calling 301-885-2779. Once registered, you will be called back to speak during the meeting between 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. on June 16, 2020. If you are not available to speak when you are called, we have the right to move onto the next caller.
