Public Hearing: Nanjemoy Rural Legacy Area

PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that the Planning Commission of Charles County, Maryland will conduct a Public Hearing on September 21, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. to consider a new Rural Legacy Area in the Nanjemoy region of the County.

The meeting will be held remotely via video teleconference. Persons wanting more information may call 301-645-0692. The hearing is open to the public, and public testimony is encouraged.

If approved, landowners within the proposed Rural Legacy Area would be eligible for Rural Legacy grant funds to preserve farm and forest properties through conservation easements. A map of the proposed boundary can be found at https://bit.ly/2Ekg8KI.

Due to COVID19, and in lieu of public appearance: Citizens can watch via CCGTV on cable access channels, Comcast: 95 and Verizon FIOS: 10, view online at https://www.charlescountymd.gov/our-county/ccgtv-live-stream, or use a call-in number to listen to the Public Hearing at 301-645-0500.

A call-in option is available to speak during the meeting. Each speaker is allotted three (3) minutes. If you are unavailable to speak when you are called, we have the right to move onto the next caller.
