NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the County Commissioners of Charles County, Maryland will conduct a Public Hearing on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. to consider Charles County Preliminary 2021 State Legislative Proposals.
The Charles County Commissioners sought proposals from citizens, groups, and organizations interested in submitting a legislative proposal or suggestion for revision or amendment to an existing State or Local law. The County Commissioners also proposed legislation to be included for public comment. The Charles County Preliminary 2021 State Legislative Proposal package is available for public review on the Charles County website at https://go.boarddocs.com/md/chrlsco/Board.nsf/Public
The meeting will be held remotely via video teleconference. Persons with questions or requests for more information regarding this hearing may call 301-645-0692. The hearing is open to the public and public testimony is encouraged.
To speak during the September 15 Public Hearing, residents must call 301-885-2779 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on September 15, 2020 to register. Once registered, residents will be called between 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on September 15, 2020 to testify. Each speaker will be allotted three (3) minutes. If a registered speaker is not available to speak when called, the County has the right to move onto the next caller.
Comments will be accepted September 15, 2020 starting at 8:00 a.m. through September 25, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. by using the e-comment feature at https://www.charlescountymd.gov/government/public-comments/preliminary-2021-state-legislative-proposals or by calling 301-645-0652 to leave a message. In addition, residents may submit comments by mail to the following address: Commissioners of Charles County, 200 Baltimore Street, La Plata, MD 20646. Comments sent by mail must be received no later than September 25, 2020.
