Resilience Authority of Charles County
The Charles County Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. to consider legislation concerning the creation of a Resilience Authority of Charles County.
The proposed legislation will enact a Resiliency Authority identified in enabling legislation: 2020 Maryland Senate Bill 457 (Local Governments – Resilience Authorities – Authorization) which allows for local governments to create a Resilience Authority by local law to accelerate infrastructure financing, reduce the cost of implementation, and mitigate and manage the risks of climate change.
The meeting will be held remotely via video teleconference. Persons with questions or requests for more information regarding this hearing may call 301-638-0801. The hearing is open to the public and public testimony is encouraged.

To speak during the December 8th Public Hearing, residents must call 301-885-2779 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on December 8, 2020 to register. Once registered, residents will be called between 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on December 8th, to testify. Each speaker will be allotted three (3) minutes. If a registered speaker is not available to speak when called, the County has the right to move on to the next caller.
