PUBLIC NOTICE
THE BOARD OF APPEALS FOR CHARLES COUNTY, MARYLAND has been petitioned by Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SMECO) requesting Special Exception use approval from the Board of Appeals for electric power, gas transmission, and telecommunications buildings and structures not associated with a tower, Use #4.06.200 as provided in Article XIII, §297-212, Article XXV, §297-415 of the Charles County Zoning Ordinance. SMECO is specifically proposing a substation to be placed on the lots consisting of a total of approximately 7.05 acres. The subject property is located at Tax Map 56, Grid 12, Parcel 129, Lots 1 and 2 and is zoned Agricultural Conservation (AC).
The submittal documents for Docket #1429, filed on December 17, 2020 and Staff Report will be available for inspection on or after March 29, 2021 online at: www.charlescountymd.gov/government/boarddocs.
The Board of Appeals is hereby giving notice that a Public Hearing will be held on this matter Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.. The meeting will be held remotely via video teleconference.
