PUBLIC NOTICE
Amendment to the 2016 Charles County Comprehensive Plan Maryland Airport
Notice is hereby given that the Planning Commission of Charles County, Maryland will conduct a Public Hearing on May 3, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. to consider proposed amendments to the 2016 Charles County Comprehensive Plan. The meeting will be held remotely via video teleconference. Persons wanting more information may call 301-645-0692. The hearing is open to the public, and public testimony is encouraged.
The proposed amendment to the 2016 Charles County Comprehensive Plan would change the land use designation of certain properties surrounding the Maryland Airport to Employment and Industrial. The changes include revised text within Chapters 3, 7, 8, and 12 of the Comprehensive Plan to support the land use change and the anticipated subsequent rezoning, and a revised Land Use Map to designate these properties as Employment and Industrial. The amendment also includes a revision to remove the airport property and the properties subject to the land use change from the County’s Priority Preservation Area (PPA). This revision to the PPA includes revised text in Chapter 11 and a revised PPA map.

A call-in option is available to speak during the meeting. Each speaker is allotted three (3) minutes.
