PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that the Planning Commission of Charles County, Maryland will conduct a Public Hearing on June 7, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. to consider a proposed Zoning Text Amendment (ZTA). The meeting will be held remotely via video teleconference. Persons wanting more information may call 301-645-0692. The hearing is open to the public, and public testimony is encouraged.

ZTA #20-160 proposes to modify the Charles County Zoning Ordinance by adding a definition and development standards for a new industrial use, specifically a Processing Facility / Transfer Station for solid waste. Proposed Use 7.03.100 would only be permissible via special exception approval from the Charles County Board of Appeals in the Heavy Industrial (IH) Zoning District.

A call-in option is available to speak during the meeting. Each speaker is allotted three (3) minutes. If a registered speaker is not available when called, the County has the right to move onto the next caller.
