PUBLIC NOTICE
Public Hearing: Indian Head Manor Water Petition
Notice is hereby given that the Charles County Commissioners will conduct a Virtual Public Hearing on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at 6 p.m., on the Water Petition for Indian Head Manor.
Inman Utilities, Inc. has petitioned the County Commissioners in accordance with Article II, Section 97-2 through 97-6 of the Code of Charles County, to acquire, improve and maintain their water system.
If the Petition is granted, the County Commissioners will cause the necessary improvements to be made, pay the cost thereof, accept said water system into the County’s water system, and charge a benefit assessment to the property owners whose property is served or to be served by the water system.
The meeting will be held remotely via video teleconference. Persons with questions or requests for more information regarding this hearing may call 301-645-0692. The hearing is open to the public and public testimony is encouraged.
To speak during the September 29, 2021, Public Hearing, residents must call 301-885-2779 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on September 29, 2021, to register. Once registered, residents will be called between 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on September 29, 2021, to testify. Each speaker will be allotted three (3) minutes. If a registered speaker is not available to speak when called, the County has the right to move onto the next caller.
Comments will be accepted September 10, 2021 starting at 8:00 a.m. through September 29, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. by using the e-comment feature at https://www.charlescountymd.gov/government/public-comments/petition-for-indian-head-manor-section-one-inman-utilities or by calling 301-645-0652 to leave a message. In addition, residents may submit comments by mail to the following address: Commissioners of Charles County, 200 Baltimore Street, La Plata, MD 20646. Comments sent by mail must be received no later than September 29, 2021. The County Commissioners reserve the right to extend the time frame allotted for the hearing.
