News Release # 2021-149

The Charles County Department of Emergency Services, including Fire and Emergency Medical Services, will be prioritizing calls and delaying the response to non-emergency calls until after road conditions improve. This is an effort to ensure emergency responder safety. All emergency calls for service will be prioritized until 1 p.m. and staff will re-evaluate in the afternoon based upon road conditions at that time. Additionally, VanGO public transit has been shut down until road conditions improve.

Residents are urged to avoid non-essential trips and stay home if possible. Keeping roads clear of traffic will help county crews plow snow and keep roads passable for emergency responders and public safety staff. Please visit www.CharlesCountyMD.gov for the latest updates.
