The OPEB (Other Post Employment Benefit) Committee was formed under Resolution 2012-30. The Commissioners established the Charles County Retiree Health Plan to provide health and welfare benefits to eligible retirees and, in certain instances, their survivors and dependents. The Committee interprets the provisions of the Plan and decides eligibility to participate; establish rules and forms for the administration of the Plan; takes action as necessary to cause direct payment of any participant contributions required; prepare and distribute information explaining the Plan; keeps records of elections, claims, disbursement; prepare and files reports; and make recommendations to the Commissioners regarding purchase of any insurance, funding policy and investment policy necessary for providing benefits under the Plan.
