Overview: The Interfaith Commission shall foster collaboration between and among faith communities, secular communities, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and county government. In pursuing this mission, the Commission shall: Facilitate and, as appropriate, sponsor, or co-sponsor activities that call on collaboration among faith communities, secular non-profit organizations, local business and the Charles County Government; Facilitate meaningful and durable civic partnerships with local religious institutions, academic institutions, faith based and secular non-profit organizations, and other government institutions; Facilitate the communication to Charles County residents of important outreach initiatives that benefit Charles County Citizens, such as grant opportunities, health care information, and other community benefits through its community and religious networks; Harness the resources and voice of the faith communities for advocacy and charitable initiatives; and Maintain a working relationship with County entities whose work is to serve the public good.
