Recycling carts and trash cans inevitably become dirty. The Department of Public Works (DPW) encourages residents to rinse their recyclables before loosely placing them in the recycling cart. Ensure food waste is not placed in the cart. Even with careful effort, carts become dirty. DPW does not replace a recycling cart if it is dirty. Residents may give their carts a good rinse with a hose or contact a professional cleaning service to clean the cart properly.
