Court Forms
Included in the text collection are books that contain sample forms. These forms can be copied and then adapted by the patron to suit his or her situation. Some of the forms are also available electronically on the public access terminals and through Westlaw & LexisNexis.
In addition, electronic court forms can be found on the judiciary’s website.
Self-Help Resources
We have a variety of do-it-yourself titles, a collection of books written specifically for self-represented litigants available in print and in electronic format.
Internet Legal Research
There is an assortment of legal resources available on the Internet. The Law Library and Legal Resource Center offers visitors four public access workstations for legal research and writing purposes. We are pleased to provide on-site access to Westlaw and LexisNexis for legal research, SASI-CALC for child support calculations, and Kaufman Alimony Guidelines.
Guests are NOT permitted to check out books from the Law Library; however, you may visit during normal business hours to utilize any of the resources offered.

Findlaw - Free online legal research site with access to Federal and State caselaw, U.S. and State Code, and general articles on various types of law. This site also provides links to Attorney General Opinions, COMAR, Maryland General Assembly.

Online Self-Help Resources
Guide and File - An application created to assist with completion of forms and filing forms via Maryland Electronic Courts. Guide & File guides the user through a series of questions and explanations related to the user's legal issue. Upon completion, the program will generate the forms needed and instructions on the next step needed. The forms can be printed to file in person or can be filed electronically.
Forms - A collection of forms that can be used to file and respond to court cases.
People's Law Library - A self-help website managed by the Thurgood Marshall State Law Library. This site covers many different topics of law and contains information to help the user understand the topic and the court process. Hyperlinks are embedded in the content of each subject that take you to the relevant statute and if appropriate, caselaw.
Videos - A collection of videos to help the self-represented with understanding the court process, various topics of law.
