The Legal Resource Center & Law Library offers four (4) public access computers with access to:

• Word Processing Software
• Westlaw and LexisNexis
• SASCI-CALC Child Support Guidelines
• Kaufman's Alimony Guidelines
• Free Internet Access
• Printing, Copying, and Scanning ($0.50 cents per page - CASH ONLY)
• MDEC E-Filing

There are also three (3) self-help computers that allow you to watch court help videos, research the People’s law library, and read about legal topics of interest.

There is no time limit in place for the use of the public access computers; however, if other patrons are waiting to use a terminal, we reserve the right to place time limits for computer use so we can effectively serve all guests. 

Conference Room

The Legal Resource Center offers one conference room for use during normal business hours.  Please complete the Legal Resource Center - Conference Room Request Form to reserve the conference room.

Please note, the Legal Resource Center cannot provide any equipment needed to facilitate any meetings, settlement conferences, depositions, or mediation to include, computers, telephones, or recording equipment.

Visiting the Legal Resource Center

• Address: 200 Charles Street, La Plata, MD 20646, located in the Basement.
• Free parking is available in the parking lot with access from Talbot Street.
• Hours of Operation:  8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday, except for court holidays.
• All visitors/patrons to the Legal Resource Center & Law Library must go through a security screening upon entering the building.
• Cell phones are allowed in the Legal Resource Center & Law Library, as long as it does not disturb other patrons and visitors in the Help Center.
