Septic Upgrade Grant Funding Available for Charles County Residents
Charles County worked with residents to add nitrogen removal units to 95 on-site septic systems between November 2007 and December 2011 using grant funding from the Bay Restoration Fund. The Charles County Department of Health has additional grant funding available from the Bay Restoration Fund to continue installing nitrogen removal units.
Statewide these units are expected to keep over 30,000 pounds of nitrogen from entering the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries each year.
